Scott and Kerri-Lee’s Wedding at The Vu, Bathgate

Callum and I had a great day at The Vu in Bathgate, photographing Scotty and Kerri-Lee’s military-style wedding. The weather was fantastic, and everyone was in great spirits!

We started with prep in Stirling with Scott and the guys, at the amazing Freehounds Barber Club. Such a cool place, and Kenny did a great job at getting everyone styled to perfection.

Kerri-Lee and her bridal party were next at their beautiful cottage. The tunes were blasting and everyone was having a great time. Games with the wee one, lots of gorgeous hair and makeup and some wonderful light for portraits.

Then it was into the limos and off to The Vu, where we saw a huge blue sky and bright sunshine…along with the usual breeze! The ceremony was a military style wedding, so we were spoilt with a guard of honour, swords and lots of smart uniforms. Scott and Kerri-Lee were so lovely during the ceremony. It’s so nice to see so much love in two people. Teary moments, the exchanging of rings and the first kiss. All beautiful moments to capture.

After the ceremony came the group shots and bridal portraits. The bright sun gave us some great silhouette shots, and of course, the jeti at The Vu is a must-have. The breeze…well…full-on wind by this point…was great for lifting the veil and getting some lovely motion in the images. It was quite cold though, so we moved the bridal party photos indoors where it was a bit warmer, and took advantage of the lovely window light in the reception room. Lots of fun!

Speeches were short but sweet, with lots of laughs and plenty of toasting! And then it was onto the wedding breakfast which was…wow! Callum and I were treated to the most delicious meal which was a nice surprise on the day. Thanks so much Kerri-Lee and Scott!

Once the meal was done it was setup for the cake-cutting and the evening party…we’d been looking forward to this all day. The sun was starting to set, giving us the most amazing “Golden Hour” light steaming through the windows, everyone was in a great mood and the DJ was great at filling the dance floor and making it a night to remember. The first dances were soooo nice! So much emotion, a lovely venue and beautiful light…doesn’t get much better for photographers!

We brought along the video camera and mics, and filmed some wedding messages for the bride and groom from a whole bunch of guests. As you can imagine, we got some hilarious messages, which we’ve edited into a keepsake video for Scott and Kerri-Lee. They loved it!

All in all, a wonderful day, and a wonderful couple! Thanks so much for having us along, and all the best to you both!
